Retrieving Student, Course, Section, Instructor, and Enrollment Data Using SELECT
Overview
In education administration, one of the most important tasks is retrieving data from different tables. The SELECT statement allows you to extract specific information about students, courses, sections, instructors, and enrollments.
Each table stores a different part of the academic system. The students table stores student details, the courses table stores course information, the sections table shows course offerings, the instructors table stores faculty data, and the enrollments table tracks which students are registered in which sections.
By selecting specific columns, you can retrieve only the information you need. This makes your queries more efficient and easier to interpret.
Common uses of SELECT include:
β’ Viewing student lists
β’ Listing available courses
β’ Checking section details
β’ Reviewing instructor information
β’ Tracking student enrollments
